Introduction
|
This page is intended to provide usable tools for groups and communities who
are concerned about SALW proliferation in their area. It also provides a variety
of tools related to training in SALW control that do not fit into any other category.

Needs
assessment
|
These are intended for members of local communities and civil society to assess
whether they are in need of training for control of small-arms, who should be
trained, and for what purpose.

Training
Tool Proposal Form
- This form is intended for the proposal of all training tools (for example,
films, exercises, collections of documents, etc.) that a trainer or someone wishing
to conduct an SALW training course might find useful. For proposing a module (a
full, stand-alone training session) please use the Module Proposal Form (in press).

Training
evaluation
|
These forms are intended for participants in small-arms training courses arranged
locally, to evaluate the results of the training and check whether their needs
and expectations have been met.
- Course Evaluation (in press)
- This tool is intended to evaluate a course with embedded TRESA modules,
whether the entire course was taught based on TRESA material or not. It is intended
to provide feedback to the trainer and to TRESA. For evaluating any individual
module, please use Participant Module Evaluation and Trainer Module Evaluation
tools.
- Participant Module Evaluation (in press)
- This tool is a generic tool intended to provide TRESA with feedback from trainees
who have participated in training, on the qualities of a module. We shall modify
modules in light of this feedback. For evaluation of a module by the trainer please
download the Trainer Module Evaluation tool.
- Trainer Module Evaluation (in press)
- This tool is a generic tool intended to provide TRESA with feedback from trainers
on the qualities of any module, based on actual experience using a module. We
shall modify modules in light of this feedback. For evaluation of a module by
trainees please download the Participants Module Evaluation tool.

Useful information

- Documentary "My first shot"
- The film “My first shot“ is the output of a video workshop that
took place in Skopje/Macedonia in April 2006. In this workshop, children and youth
were given the possibility to show their experiences with small arms and violence
and how this influences their lifes in short film clips.

- Young people are turning to gangs mainly in search of the respect, solidarity
and support, which they have been unable to find in their family, community, work
or school. Most gang members come from a low class or a low middle class background.
