TRESA (Training and Education on Small Arms) is a project of the Bonn International Center for Conversion (BICC) funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Co-operation and Development (BMZ).

 TRESA develops and implements a methodology and practice for the delivery of configurable, assessed, training material and tools and courses related to small-arms control. The developed TRESA modules are all available online, and are free of charge to anyone engaged in SALW-control training across the world, no matter whether this is an individual, organization or government body.

  TRESA has a broad scope, and will identify target trainee groups, and relevant courses with an eye to being inclusive, incorporating the many and varied aspects of small-arms control rather than focussing on a limited set of aspects. Courses are designed in a modular fashion that allows fine-tuning to specific local or international conditions, while still maintaining methodological, didactic, and evaluative coherence. Courses and training materials are designed from the outset to be modifiable linguistically and culturally.

 Most TRESA materials are available freely, either from this website or by application to TRESA. Proposals and requests for training modules are strongly encouraged from trainers and training designers, organizations working in SALW-control, and above all, from those in need of SALW-control training.
